While we pride ourselves on covering all the bases, there’s one common thread I often hear from my clients: "I wish I had more time." Time management isn’t about cramming more into your day. The key to productivity is working smarter, not harder. So, how can we reclaim our time, prevent burnout, and make space to nurture our goals? It all starts with building a better working week.
Why Traditional Time Management Doesn't Work for High-Achieving Women
Many of the women I coach come to me already well-organized. They take charge of their time efficiently and effectively but need time and space to zoom out and look at their schedule more holistically. Traditional time management approaches aren't built for the unique challenges that women like you and I face, raising children, mindset and the self-pressure we put on ourselves to perform at 110%. It's these factors that can make it impossible to get things under control.
The Key to Working Smarter, Not Harder
What if I told you that the secret to unlocking more time and less stress lies in how you approach your week, rather than how many tasks you can check off? When we work smarter, we focus on the right tasks, eliminate the noise, and create space for what truly matters. That also means making space for what matters personally as well as professionally.
Here are three tips to help you build your best week:
Prioritize with Purpose: Take a step back and look at your long-term goals. Are the tasks you’re working on aligned with those goals? Often, we fill our schedules with things that feel urgent but don’t move the needle. Focus on the activities that bring you closer to your desired outcomes—this is where your time should go.
Set Boundaries and Protect Your Time: High achievers tend to say "yes" to everything—whether it’s an extra project at work or helping out a friend. Learn to set clear boundaries and protect your time like the valuable resource it is. Remember, every "yes" is also a "no" to something else. Choose wisely.
Build in Downtime: It may feel counterintuitive, but scheduling breaks and downtime is essential to avoid burnout. When you’re constantly "on," your productivity and creativity suffer. Make sure your week includes moments for rest and reflection, so you can recharge and come back stronger.
Build A Better Working Week

This guide offers practical hacks to help you take charge of your day. You deserve to feel empowered by your schedule, not controlled by it. Let’s work smarter, reclaim our time, and build a week that sets us up for success—both in and out of the office.
